What a gutsy run by The Big Steel today at Ballarat. Beaten by a good length at the 200m mark Big Steely found a whole new level and desire to win. Storming home on the rail to tough it out and get there on the line, the 1600m really suited him after his last two starts over 1400m.
Great day for the owners who were all there to cheer him home!
Second year Snippetson yearlings sell at the sales for over $100,000...
It seems we got in early with our Snippetson filly from Snippetson's first season crop. The two year old filly we are currently syndicating is touted to be a very good choice and by all accounts we got her for a steal.
She has just completed her first preparation and galloped like a pro. She is now currently spelling.

MISS RUBENSTEIN JUST MISSES COURSE RECORD! Miss Rubenstein smashes the maiden field at Seymour today to easily win her first ever start... and just misses course record! Running against more experienced horses in a 1000m race, she bounced out of the gates though not the best of the group, then drove straight through the field quickly and into the lead. Leading by a clear couple of lengths the whole way she then put the foot down in the straight to put up to 4 lengths on the field. Dale Smith reported to TVN that he pulled her up 70m out as she had nothing more to prove. Still winning easily by 3 lengths. A slightly bitter sweet moment for John Truscott, breeder and part owner, who lost Miss Rubenstein’s mum only 3 weeks ago during foaling complications. Miss Rubenstein is a great legacy for this mare. This 3yo filly is a beautiful athletic type whose abilities are that of a very classy horse and is proudly flying the Your Horse silks. THE BIG STEEL STEALS 3RD'! The Big Steel hits the track for he very first start and stormed home for a 3rd place! A staying type who grinds home, looked gone at the turn… but after he straightened he found a new gear and powered home to a tough 3rd. Fun times ahead once he gets to up to staying trips!

EMIRATE STAKES DAY A big start to this youngsters career! This gutsy little 2yo ran in Saturday’s Group 3 Maribynong Plate. “He decided half way through the race that he was ready for a spell, which just happens with 2 year olds” Glen Boss reported. A very encouraging first campaign for Indisputably a true professional with a bright future. He has now gone out for a well earned break!
